Add a Video of an Artwork
You can now add videos to your artwork listings that will highlight details that might otherwise go unnoticed. To do this, you need to import a video already hosted on YouTube or Vimeo.
How to add a video:
When you are adding or editing an artwork, there will now be a box entitled “Detail videos” below the secondary images box. When you click on “Add”, you will be asked to select the platform on which your video is hosted, and then enter the video's ID.
- On YouTube: the video ID is the series of characters and numbers after .com/watch?v=.
- On Vimeo: your video ID is the series of numbers after .com/
Tips for filming your work
To make the most of your artwork in a video, here are a few tips to follow:
- Use good lighting: Make sure the work is well lit, using natural light or neutral lighting to avoid shadows and reflections.
- Show details: Zoom in slowly on important details, such as the texture of the paint or specific elements, so that collectors can see them clearly.
- Frame correctly: Make sure the work is well centered and that nothing distracts from the main subject. A neutral background can help bring the work into focus.
